Bill (singular - just the word)... A proposed statute that is before the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for consideration. A “bill” becomes a statute when it is passed by the Legislative Assembly after its third reading, and it receives Royal Assent.

FMTA - Federation of Metro Toronto Tenant Associations. An incorporated, not-for-profit advocacy group. Their constitution mandates them to operate a forum for tenants
F.R.P.O. ("Federation of Rental Providers of Ontario") - lobby group with close ties to wealthy developers and landlords. The best thing we've seen in recent months is their minions scurrying about ‒ very upset ‒ when the "York South - Weston" (YSWTU) tenants group picketed their gala party in December and posted to "X" (formerly Twitter)
On a nastier note a recent issue of their magazine-style newsletter featured a full-page ad where a former member of the Tribunal, at the Landlord and Tenant Board, was offering advice to landlords for a fee. I am not making this up!! - Admin

Gerofsky, David - a developer who was active on the lot that included the buildings at 10 Grenoble and 7 St. Dennis Drive and 25 St. Dennis Drive; this is the street that faces the old "Ontario Science Centre" site. In 2022-2023 Gerofsky's syndicate sought, and apparently received approval for four new buildings on the lot; one of the towers was to be a 50+ storey skyscraper condominium. It has since been reduced in height.
During the largely unadvertised "public consultation" process ― where a total of perhaps two city residents attended session over Webex with "North York" planner Angela Zhao ― there was very little mention of the suitability of this type of accomodation, eg. existing condos in the immediate area have not worked out that well, long-term. - they tend to drift towards becoming rental buildings of a sort, even though this is not a part of the plan. References - "aging condos" item in Canadian Lawyer magazine circa 2019-2021 - to be added.

HEPA - "High Efficiency Particle Air". A standard for filters in air purification equipment, cars and vacuum cleaners. HEPA filters are often recognizable by their "waffle" or accordion-like surface

infill - In urban planning, infill refers to the practice of building new residential, commercial, or mixed-use structures on underutilized, vacant, or repurposed land within an already established urban area. Instead of expanding outward into untouched green spaces (urban sprawl), infill development builds inward and upward, maximizing the use of existing infrastructure, roads, and utilities.
Watch out for that word "vacant" (it's sometimes contained in the phraise "vacant lands".

Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) - provincial government agency that operates a quasi-judicial tribunal.
Land Tribunal - often cited, without details, the ‘Land Tribunal’ is in some ways the latest incarnation of the controversial Ontario Municipal Board. Note that the Land Tribunal does not appear on the Ontario government's Tribunals Ontario web pages.

MERV - acronym used in discussions of building ventilation and filtering out particulates and smoke. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value in different types of air filters. It’s an industry-standard rating scale (ranging from 1 to 16) created by ASHRAE to measure how effectively an air filter captures airborne particles (dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, smoke) as air passes through it.
MERV levels 1 to 4 refers basic residential panel filters (captures large particles like lint and pollen).
MERV 8–11: Standard residential and light commercial filters (captures fine dust, pet dander, mold spores).
MERV 13–16: High-efficiency commercial and hospital-grade filters (captures fine particulates, bacteria, and smoke/smog).
Note: HEPA filters operate on a separate rating system, above MERV 16

Neighbourhood Watch - crime and safety bulletins using "Google Groups" (formerly USENET) was a featured topic at a Ward 16 town hall meeting on April 14, 2026. This information was echoed in late May by Ward 18 councillor Lily Cheng, but we don't have any details about the councillor's Zoom meeting.
Councillor Cheng published a link to a Global News video about Didi Cameron, but Global did not specifically mention "Google Groups".
